Lady Barn is really quite a big school, so we strive hard to make BIG seem SMALL so we can get to know the children as the individuals that they are, as quickly and as well as possible.
For this reason the school is split into four sections or ‘departments’, each of which covers two years of school.
- Early Years – Nursery and Reception (aged 3 to 5)
- Infants – Years 1 & 2 (aged 5 to 7)
- Lower Juniors – Years 3 & 4 (aged 7-9)
- Upper Juniors – Years 5 & 6 (aged 9-11)
Each department is led by a senior teacher who is part of the school’s Leadership Team. As the children move through the school, expectations of them gradually grow and in this way they are helped to grow and develop as they navigate their way through their primary education, ready for the move to senior school.
