Lady Barn House School

“All the world’s a stage,

And all the men and women merely players.”

As You Like It, William Shakespeare

The Drama Year at Lady Barn is busy and lively. Our fully equipped Drama Studio is where our classes from Year 2 to Year 6 have their weekly Drama lessons.

These provide a valuable opportunity to encounter a fabulous variety of texts drawn from literature, art and the media. With drama activities we are able to explore these in exciting, imaginative ways and gain a deeper understanding of people, situations and viewpoints.

We also make the most of the opportunity to develop verbal and physical communication skills, which help our children grow into confident, thoughtful speakers – able to put across their own ideas and discuss those of others.

Drama games and challenges are also regular features, including teamwork, creative thinking and problem solving in a fun context.

There are plenty of occasions to enjoy performing, too – in annual musical productions, Christmas plays, drama showcases or assembly presentations. Drama Club and Speech lessons offer the chance for children to choose drama as an extra-curricular activity, too, and develop their enthusiasm and talents still further.

We are still welcoming Admissions enquiries for September 2020 and beyond, via email to Mrs Lachevre: or telephone 0161 359 7241.
