Head's Welcome

Ever since its foundation in 1873 by the educational pioneer W.H. Herford, Lady Barn House School has maintained his vision that the school should enable each pupil to develop a wide range of skills, grow in confidence and find their own voice in the world.

The cornerstone of this vision was that every child should be happy and so a deep care for each pupil as an individual lies at the heart of all that we do.

Lady Barn has built its fine reputation both locally and nationally through unrivalled academic success, innovative and inspiring teaching, superb pastoral care, extensive outdoor and sporting opportunities and a thriving creative curriculum. Above all, our pupils are happy, confident, well-mannered children who love to learn and who are proud of their achievements and of their school.

The only way to find out properly about Lady Barn is to see us in action and to meet the staff and pupils. Please do get in touch to arrange a personal tour or join us on one of our regular Open Days. We will be pleased to welcome you.
