Widening Horizons - Lower Juniors
Years 3 and 4 make up our fantastic Lower Junior department, with 3 mixed ability classes in each year group.
We have a strong focus on continuing to develop each child’s education, whilst offering them a wide range of extra-curricular activities to enhance their overall development and skill-set, ensuring our pupils can grow in well-rounded, independent individuals who show our school values of resilience, teamwork, creativity, honesty, respect and kindness in all they do.
The Year 3 and Year 4 form teachers are dedicated to providing a lively, dynamic environment in which all children can thrive. We plan a careful mix of traditional and more contemporary approaches, allowing children to develop a variety of important skills on a daily basis. Specialist teachers play a large role in delivering subjects such as Art, Drama, IT, Music, Languages (Mandarin Y3, French Y4), Science and Games/PE which allows each child to experience a wide variety of lessons taught by experienced teachers who have a genuine passion for their subject.
There really is something for everyone in our range of after-school and lunchtime clubs: Construction Club, Pet Club, EYFS Club, IT Club, Sewing Club, Mindfulness Colouring Club, Latin Club, Chess Club are just a sample of what is on offer for all children across the department. These, alongside numerous Music and Sports Clubs, mean that everyone can find something to enjoy!
During the Lower Juniors, we also have numerous trips and visitors to the school, including:
- Trip to Grosvenor Museum, Chester - Y3
- Viking Day - Y3
