Sports Coach

Sports Coach Job Description

This role involves teaching girls’ games, including supervision in contexts where it is appropriate for a female member of staff. Therefore, this post is open to female applicants only, in accordance with a genuine occupational requirement under Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010. 

Lady Barn House School is seeking to appoint a Sports Coach to join our PE department. This is an excellent opportunity for a committed and enthusiastic individual to contribute to a well-established and successful sports programme.

The role involves working with pupils aged 3 to 11, supporting the delivery of Physical Education and Girls’ Games, as well as contributing to fixtures, competitions and the school’s holiday club provision.

Key responsibilities

  • Deliver and support high-quality PE and games lessons

  • Coach pupils across all age groups, from Nursery to Prep 6

  • Assist with the organisation and delivery of fixtures and competitions

  • Support the development of the girls’ games and swimming programme

  • Work closely with colleagues in the PE department

  • Contribute to the delivery of the school’s multi-sports holiday club.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have experience coaching sport, ideally within a school or youth setting

  • Be confident working with children across a range of ages and abilities

  • Demonstrate strong organisational and communication skills

  • Be reliable, adaptable and able to work effectively as part of a team

  • Show a genuine interest in supporting pupils’ development through sport.

 

Teaching Assistant

Fixed Term Contract – 1 September 2026 to 31 August 2027

We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic and qualified Teaching Assistant to join our amazing team.  The successful applicant must have an excellent rapport with young children, be committed to the highest standards of educational provision and be in sympathy with the aims and ethos of Lady Barn House School.

The successful candidate may be required to work in EYFS, Keys Stage 1 or Key Stage 2, therefore applicants should have a relevant and recognised Level 3 (or equivalent) qualification in Childcare. The post involves providing support for pupils and teachers. Each class at Lady Barn has approximately 24 children, with a roughly equal split of boys and girls.

During school holidays, the successful applicant will support the schools Holiday Club provision, Barney’s Breakout, as a Holiday Club Assistant.

Applications for term-time only hours will be considered.
