This week, as we celebrate Children’s Mental Health Awareness Week, we’re launching our Wellbeing Hero Competition — and yes… we’ve let AI imagine what a wellbeing mascot might look like 👀🎨
But here’s the important bit:
We think human imagination is far more powerful.
Now it’s over to our pupils to design a Lady Barn Wellbeing Hero — a character that represents calm, courage, kindness or confidence. Something that could live in our wellbeing spaces and bring a smile to others.
Entries in after half-term — we can’t wait to see what you create.

Our Prep 1 artists have been diving into the life and work of Claude Monet, and the results are simply beautiful.
Inspired by Monet’s sailboat paintings, the children created their own artwork with incredible care and focus.
They thoughtfully painted the sea and sky, paying close attention to the horizon line, and explored perspective by showing smaller boats in the distance. Using watercolour for soft, flowing backgrounds and pencil crayon for detail, each piece shows confidence, creativity, and growing artistic skill.
We are so proud of how carefully they worked, how bravely they experimented with new techniques, and how beautifully they brought their ideas to life. They are true little impressionists in the making 🛶🌊#lbhsopportunity

WINNER ALERT 🔔 Laila has won the Stockport Grammar School Annual Portrait Competition. Chosen from approximately 100 entries across the borough, her work stood out in a field of exceptionally high-quality portraits.
The judges were particularly struck by Laila’s imaginative and confident approach, praising her creative and thoughtful use of colour and materials, which clearly distinguished her work from the many strong entries.
Miss Fitzsimons was particularly proud of Laila’s achievement, praising her commitment and creativity throughout the project. This is a remarkable accomplishment and a wonderful recognition of Laila’s talent, dedication and artistic flair. Well done, Laila 🥳🥳#lbhsopportunity

They’ve been writing revolting menus, inventing delicious-sounding but totally disgusting dishes for their own restaurants! On the menu:
