Our Community

At Lady Barn House School, the sense of community is one of the things families value most. From pupils and parents to former pupils, staff, grandparents and friends of the school, Lady Barn brings together people who share a lasting connection.

Many of the friendships and experiences formed here continue long after pupils move on, and there are many ways to stay involved in the life of the school.

Current families and pupils are at the heart of daily life at Lady Barn. Through Friends of Lady Barn, families come together at community events and activities throughout the year. Former pupils, parents, staff and friends can stay connected through the Lady Barn Community Portal, where members can hear news, reconnect and register for events. Throughout the year the Lady Barn community returns for celebrations, events and reunions that bring generations of families back together. Members of our community also support the future of the school through Giving at Lady Barn, including the Beyond Learning Bursary Fund, which helps widen access to a Lady Barn education.

Our Community Has Deep Roots

Friends of Lady Barn brings together parents, alumni and friends who share a connection to the School today. But this sense of community has been part of Lady Barn for over 150 years.

Founded in 1873 by educational pioneer William Herford, Lady Barn was built on the belief that children should learn in a happy and supportive environment — a philosophy that still shapes the school today.
