On Wednesday, 27th November, we participated in a fantastic initiative to boost our speaking and listening skills called ‘No Pens Day’.

Across the School, students enjoyed engaging lessons focused on talking, discussion, performance, and listening. Some classes embraced creative poetry tasks, while others took part in traditional ‘Show and Tell’ activities. Many also used the iPads' recording features to capture their work and voices digitally, adding an exciting technological element to the day.

The whole school, from Nursery to Upper Juniors, got involved, although Prep 6 joined in outside of their Maths and English lessons, as they are in the midst of crucial exam preparation and need to use writing implements for practice.

In today’s world, speaking and listening are essential skills, and ‘No Pens Day’ was a wonderful reminder of how important it is to inspire creativity and spark joy through activities that allow children to express themselves, share stories, and learn from one another. What a fun and enriching day for all!
