Prep 2 Visit The Lowry
Back
Prep 2 had a fantastic trip last week to The Lowry. Their day began with an art workshop focused on Lowry landscapes. They visited the galleries to view the Lowry paintings housed there, and listened to insights into his painting style. The children discovered that Lowry achieved fame as an artist later in life and was renowned for his paintings of 'matchstick men.'
After lunch, the focus shifted as everyone explored the Julia Donaldson exhibition at the venue. The children were already familiar with the stories and relished the opportunity to fully immerse themselves in tales like 'The Smeds and the Smoos' and 'Zog.' In Charlie Cook's Book Corner, there was time to enjoy a collection of Julia Donaldson's books as well. The day was a fantastic experience for all.
