This week in humanities, we have been locating different countries from around the world using a world map. We  worked in pairs to locate different houses and homes from around the world and then match them to the correct countries. This activity was fun because it involved one of the most challenging skills for children of our age group- teamwork! Prep 1 have also been thinking about the types of materials and colours that houses from around the world are built with. It was interesting to discover that in some countries, communities live in Tree Houses! We discovered that the reason for this, is to avoid floods and even wild animals! Over the next coming weeks, we are going to be focusing on Africa and making our own clay huts!
