Lady Barn Gymnasts - A Successful Term
Back
The Lady Barn gymnasts have had an exceptionally busy and successful term, proudly representing the school at competitions across the country.
The season began in January, with seven teams taking part in the regional Milano Group Championships in Blackburn. Every gymnast achieved a gold, silver, or bronze medal, and an impressive five teams secured qualification for the National Finals. The children’s creativity, teamwork, and outstanding synchronisation shone through in every routine.
Also in January, five teams competed in the regional Floor and Vault competition. Our two girls’ teams, the boys’ team, and two mixed teams all earned gold or silver medals for their excellent performances. A special congratulations goes to our Under 11 girls’ team—Lucy, Charlotte, Izzy, Alexa and Georgie—who achieved the highest team score in the entire region.
March brought the excitement of the National Finals in Stoke, where our teams represented the North West in a challenging two-day event. Despite last-minute routine changes due to injuries, the gymnasts showed remarkable resilience and teamwork. Their hard work paid off as the Under 11 girls’ group achieved the highest score in their category, and Lucy achieved an incredible 2nd place nationally—only 0.15 behind the winner!
A huge thank you to our wonderful travelling supporters and to the FOLB Fundraising Committee for our dazzling new leotards—they look spectacular! We are also incredibly grateful to Eloise Massey for her choreography, hair, and routine guidance; working with you has been a joy.
It has been a sparkling, shining term for Lady Barn gymnastics—and there is even more to look forward to this summer!
