Wednesday became No Pens Day across the school, as we embarked on a day of exciting learning without the use of any pens, pencils or styluses! In Prep 5, the children really enjoyed taking a break from their exercise books and looking at Maths and English tasks from a fresh perspective.

In Maths, we practised our mental multiplication of fractions with a fun dice game. We also had a go at being number detectives with a missing numbers problem, where we had to place digit cards correctly to solve a mystery long multiplication!

In English, we worked in small groups to craft 'metaphor poems' about different Lady Barn teachers. We used our speaking and listening skills to exchange ideas and decide upon the perfect metaphor descriptions for each teacher, then utilised dictation technology to get our finished pieces typed up. Keep an eye out for some of the poems appearing soon on the screens around school!  We wonder if you will be able to work out which teachers are featured!
