Last week, our Eco Council team from Prep 3-6 visited the local recycling centre. The children went to find out about how much work, dedication and commitment it takes to sort out all the refuse that we take for granted and throw away.

We talked about the different materials we can recycle and also some of the items we did not know could be recycled!

We then went on a tour of the facility to see how our rubbish is sorted into recyclable plastics (transparent and opaque), metals, paper and cardboard and glass. 

The Eco team were tasked with a variety of activities and found out a great deal about the importance of sorting our rubbish into the correct bins at home and school.
