Prep 6 Girls' Rounders
Back
Prep 6 travelled to Manchester High for a rounders fixture. Both the Red and Gold teams showed great enthusiasm, teamwork and delegation as they arranged themselves on the field. The Gold team opted to field first and whilst playing on a hard-court surface meant the ball sped across the floor, they worked hard to try and limit the scoring opportunities for the Manchester High team. The first innings saw Manchester High take a commanding lead, but it was great to see the positivity, leadership and encouragement the Lady Barn girls displayed throughout the game. They made some excellent catches and run outs in the second half, as well as scoring further rounders. The Gold team may not have won the match, but congratulations go to the players of the match who were Scarlett and Rima.
In the Red team match, the team showed impressive skills with the batters making a blistering start and taking on every opportunity to score putting pressure on the Manchester High team. The girls worked equally as hard in the field and had a commanding lead in the game going into the second innings. By this time Manchester High had found their stride with the bat and challenged Lady Barn by putting them under increasing pressure. However, the Lady Barn girls kept positive and worked hard as a team in the field before having another good innings with the bat. The result was a win, and congratulations go to the players of the match who were Shreya and Parker.
Well done Prep 6 on a great afternoon of rounders!
