Prep 1 adventure to Blue Planet Aquarium
Back
On Wednesday, Prep 1 had a fantastic time visiting the Blue Planet Aquarium. One of the highlights was definitely walking through the shark tunnel – the children were amazed to see the sharks swimming right over their heads!
As well as the tunnel, we explored lots of other areas. The children loved watching the stingrays glide through the water and were fascinated by the colourful tropical fish.
We also took part in an educational session called Drowning in Plastic, where the children learnt about plastic pollution and the impact it can have on our oceans – especially on sea creatures like turtles. It really got them thinking, and they were full of thoughtful questions afterwards.
The children were captivated by the Aquatheatre show, where they watched scuba divers feeding some of the sea creatures. They also found out more about the role of the divers, and the equipment they use underwater.
Afterwards, they enjoyed spending time on the outdoor play equipment – a fun and active way to round off the trip, before heading back to school.
There was lots of excitement, curiosity, and learning – a brilliant experience all round!
