A week of cricket activity culminated in a trip to Lancashire Cricket Club and an afternoon of competitive matches at MGS. The children were treated to a visit to the club shop initially, as the opportunity to purchase some Lancashire and England cricket merchandise was exciting. We then entered the indoor cricket nets for a net session which allowed the group to train in a world class facility. It was a pleasure to watch the group work on their bowling and batting and see just how much they have developed a love for the game. We concluded with a timed fielding challenge and of course a packed lunch to tuck into on the way back to school.

Mr Bowler, Mr Slade and I reflected on a very enjoyable and action-packed week of cricket. With net sessions at school and at Lancashire CC, fixtures against Altrincham Prep School at Bowdon CC, an internal fixture at Cheadle CC for our Prep 5 and Prep 6 Boys and a whole year group game against Manchester Grammar School for Prep 6 Boys, the opportunity for over 36 pupils has been outstanding. We had played cricket on some fine cricket grounds, developed strong friendships and camaraderie, thoroughly enjoyed playing in the hot summer sunshine and made lasting memories. What an amazing week of cricket!
