A message from our Head of Early Years!
Back
It’s hard to believe we are already nearing the end of the first half of the Autumn term, time truly does fly when you’re having fun! It has been such a joy to watch our youngest learners settle into school life with growing confidence, curiosity, and enthusiasm. The start of the school year is always a special time, full of new beginnings, fresh faces, and exciting adventures, and this year has been no exception.
The children have embraced every opportunity to explore and learn through our rich and varied continuous provision, both indoors and outdoors. From building imaginative worlds in the construction area to investigating patterns in nature, painting, role play, and early mark making, the classrooms have been buzzing with creativity and discovery. It has been wonderful to see the children’s independence and friendships blossom as they grow more familiar with our routines and environment.
One of the highlights of the term so far has been our Woodland School sessions. The children have absolutely loved exploring the natural world, hunting for mini-beasts, building dens, and learning about the changing seasons. These experiences not only develop their understanding of the world around them but also nurture teamwork, problem-solving, and resilience. Watching their faces light up with excitement and pride as they share their woodland discoveries is truly heart-warming.
I would also like to take this opportunity to thank all our parents and carers for their continued support. Your positivity, patience, and encouragement at drop-off and pick-up times make such a difference. Starting school is a big milestone for children and families alike, and it is through our strong home–school partnership that we can give each child the very best start to their educational journey. We are so grateful for the way you work with us, celebrating achievements, sharing information, and supporting your children as they grow in confidence and independence.
As we look ahead to the second half of the term, there is so much to be excited about! We’ll be continuing our learning adventures, welcoming new topics, and, of course, beginning preparations for the grand finale of the term, our much-loved Christmas performances. It promises to be a magical time filled with sparkle, song, and celebration.
Wishing you all a restful half-term break and a joyful return for the exciting weeks ahead.
