Learning Together: A Wonderful Term in Prep 4
Back
Prep 4 have enjoyed a busy and exciting term, embracing our school values of creativity and teamwork across a range of learning experiences.
During our Animal Theme Week, we focused on mammals and worked together to create an impressive papier-mâché jaguar. The project required careful planning, patience and collaboration, with every member of the class contributing to different stages of its construction. From shaping the framework to painting the final details, pupils demonstrated fantastic creativity and took great pride in producing a striking piece of artwork. The finished jaguar became a real talking point and showcased what can be achieved when we work together towards a shared goal.
Our learning in Humanities was brought to life through an exciting trip to Skipton Castle as part of our Castles topic. Exploring one of the best-preserved medieval castles in England gave pupils a valuable opportunity to experience history beyond the classroom. Walking through the gatehouse, great hall and watchtower helped us to deepen our understanding of castle life, defence and the importance of castles in medieval society. The visit sparked thoughtful questions and lively discussions, allowing pupils to make meaningful connections between their studies and the real world.
Throughout the term, Prep 4 have shown enthusiasm, curiosity and resilience in all they have undertaken. Whether collaborating on creative projects or exploring the past through first-hand experiences, the children have demonstrated a wonderful commitment to learning and to supporting one another. We are incredibly proud of all they have achieved and look forward to the exciting opportunities that next term will bring.
