From drones to 3D printing, the Summer Term in Computing at LBHS is always exciting, and this year has been no exception.

Prep 6 have taken their learning into the skies during our exciting drones topic. Children were introduced to piloting drones using directional commands and developed their skills to master hand landings, bouncing take-offs and even impressive 3D flips!

3D printing and digital design have taken centre stage in Prep 5. Students have designed, constructed and printed their own personalised keyrings, paying close attention to font choice, style and filament strength.

World Cup fever has gripped Prep 4! Pupils have been demonstrating their research and coding skills by programming a Sphero robot to become an interactive, moving and singing fact file, bursting with fascinating information about one of 48 randomly generated World Cup countries.

Prep 4 have also taken the leap from ScratchJr to Scratch. Using block-based coding, they have animated their names, created simple computer games and developed their resilience by learning how to identify and debug coding errors.

In Prep 3, students have been exploring augmented reality and creating their own "fake news" by placing Bengali tigers in the playground and posing with metre-long hamsters around the school grounds!

Prep 1 and 2 have spent the last term developing their digital skills through the app Book Creator. They have created interactive books containing photos, videos and audio, producing electronic books full of information about themselves.
