It has been a wonderful start to the autumn term for SEND at Lady Barn. Staff, children and parents have been enjoying settling into our new SEND room that is located downstairs in the Richard Stone building.

This bright, calming space has been used by SEND specialists to support individual and small groups of children, as well as being a welcoming base for meeting with external specialists and parents. We hope that this space will provide a calming sanctuary  during the school day, where students can be supported to thrive, learn and grow.

Miss Clifford is our SEND Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) and supports children in school with specialist, individual and small group support. The SEND team can be contacted directly by emailing sendco@ladybarnhouse.org

It was a pleasure to welcome a number of families to our ‘Coffee and Conversation’ sessions earlier this term. Parents and carers gathered to share experiences, support each other and receive guidance over tea, coffee and biscuits. These sessions will be held termly and will allow families informal opportunities to chat with members of the school SEND team. The next session will be held in the spring term.

The Zen Den, located in our Langlands building, continues to be a space for students who prefer quieter spaces at playtimes and lunchbreaks. The room is adorned with cosy furnishings, muted tones and soft lighting, allowing students to feel calm and relax.
