Condover Hall Netball Tour 2025
BackOn Saturday 8 March, Prep 6 girls arrived extremely early to school to embark on the Netball Tour to Condover Hall. Despite the early hour of 6am the girls were all in extremely high spirits and the promise of a sunny day made the journey more enjoyable.
The team arrived at Condover Hall and had no time to waste as they headed to the netball courts to play their first matches.
The girls were split into two teams and were allocated in two separate groups for the round robin phase of the competition. As both schools and netball clubs attend the tournament, competition was fierce, but the Lady Barn girls took it in their stride. The Gold Team had 7 matches in quick succession and achieved 4 wins and 3 losses, resulting in them finishing 4th. The Red Team had 6 matches in their group and despite the large gaps between games they maintained their focus, winning 5 and drawing 1, which resulted in them finishing in 2nd place.
With the netball over for the day, it was time to hit the outdoor adventure activities which saw the girls hit the high rope aerial trek course, zip wire, climbing wall, abseiling and trapeze. just to name a few! After an ice-cream in the sun it was time to hit the gift shop before getting ready for tea and the evening entertainment.
The evening brought a chance for the girls to socialise and enjoy activities such as the silent or loud disco; a film night and laser maze before heading to bed. Sunday soon came round and after a hearty breakfast, the girls were ready to take on the last of the outdoor adventure activities which included the addition of axe throwing and archery!
Both teams had successfully made the qualification for the cup competition, so had two more games to play. The Gold Team played first and had two tough matches against Edgbaston and Sarum Hall, which they lost but showed outstanding sportsmanship. The Red Team had matches against Old Hall and St. Christopher's which they won, taking them to the semi-finals where they met the Manchester Cats, who were the eventual tournament winners.
All the girls were a credit to Lady Barn and it was a pleasure to take them away on tour.
Well done, girls!
