Behold the Bramhall Board Game Café!

News ‐ 12th Jun

On Wednesday morning, in assembly, the Juniors were treated to a fantastic introduction to the board games café, ‘Outside The Box’, in Bramhall.

Welcome To Outside The Box

Helen and Rachel told us all about their fabulous café and its board games (approximately 250 of them!), and encouraged the children to consider all the positive learning opportunities that come from playing board games; from social and emotional benefits to educational and mental benefits.

We also had the enjoyment of seeing a few of their games in action and our chosen volunteers had the excitement of trying some of them out, from ‘Drop It’ to ‘Colour Brain’, ‘Cluster’ and ‘Pigs on Trampolines’! They were all great fun.

Helen and Rachel explained that ‘Outside The Box’ is a social board games café in Bramhall where you can come and play board games in a small & friendly neighbourhood space.  You can bring your family and friends, or visit as a solo player, and enjoy a selection of delicious drinks and snacks while playing games from their extensive board game library.

As we know, playing board games has so many benefits including socialising, escapism, reducing stress and cutting back on screen time and at the board game café, guests are encouraged to relax and stay for as long they like, to have fun and become part of a new community.

If you have not yet paid them a visit, please do so – they would love to see our Lady Barn community playing games together and having a bite to eat in their special gaming space.

I may well see you there!
