Teamwork Makes the Dream Work in Prep 5!
Back
One of our core values at Lady Barn is teamwork and it has been wonderful to encourage this attribute in our Prep 5 pupils this half term. In our Upper Junior assemblies, we have seen teamwork in action, whether it is a group of researchers having to relocate the Abu Simbel Temples to prevent them from being submerged from flooding or the Olympic champion Brownlee brothers carrying one another over the finish line!
Throughout Lady Barn, in all activities, we hope to instil teamwork as an important value and lifelong skill. This half term in PSHE we have been learning about what it means to work in a team. We've discussed that in a team, Together Everyone Achieves More. We have considered ways to support and care for the people within our team and ways to identify and tackle unkind behaviours. We have also explored the importance of collaboration, communication and compromise and completed different group work tasks, such as organising a school party or composing a song!
Through these activities, pupils have been encouraged to actively listen to their peers, share ideas respectfully and work together to achieve a common goal. These PSHE lessons have not only strengthened their problem-solving skills but also helped them to build positive relationships and a stronger sense of community with others in the classroom!
We are really looking forward to the year ahead to continue to put all our teamwork skills into practice!
