What an un-frog-ettable adventure it has been for Prep 2 as they have travelled deep into the fascinating world of rainforests — without even leaving the classroom!

Our enthusiastic young explorers have thrown themselves into learning all about the world’s rainforests, developing some fantastic mapping skills along the way. The children have carefully located rainforests across the globe and become mini meteorologists, comparing climates, temperatures and rainfall to our very own Manchester weather (with plenty of discussion about umbrellas, of course!).

Prep 2 have also loved discovering the incredible variety of exotic animals that call the rainforest home. From colourful parrots to curious tree frogs and mighty jaguars, the children have explored where these animals live within the different rainforest layers, what they eat, what they look like and plenty of amazing facts that left us all saying, “Wow!”

The knowledge and enthusiasm shown by the children has been truly impressive. They have gained a wonderful understanding of the wider world and learned just how important rainforests are to our everyday lives. It has been fantastic to see how much information they have retained and confidently shared.

To top off their learning, the children have created some fabulous rainforest fact files, bursting with fascinating discoveries and incredible facts. We are so proud of everything Prep 2 has achieved. They really have grown into rainforest experts!

Who knows… perhaps the next great explorer is sitting in Prep 2 right now!
