Prep 6 Boys - Football Day Trip
Back
The Prep 6 boys headed to North Yorkshire for our annual football day trip. The itinerary involved three fixtures with Queen Ethelburga's School, a swim after the game, enjoying a packed lunch and then travelling to watch a live League Two professional match between Harrogate Town FC and Chesterfield FC. It was an action packed day which the boys fully embraced.
We played in some very challenging football fixtures, where some of our opponents were in Year 7. However, this did not stop the courage and determination of our pupils to compete and the development of our boys was clear to see. We played some magnificent football at times, on a much larger pitch than what we are used to. Congratulations to Angus, Ellis and Ziyan who scored the goals and to Ishaan, Joseph, Aiden, Elias and Ibraheem B who were named as players of the matches.
After an enjoyable free swim and a much needed packed lunch, we headed off to the Exercise Stadium, Harrogate to experience a live event. We unsurprisingly added to the atmosphere as the boys got fully behind the home side, who managed to score a very late winning goal! The children had the opportunity to buy something from the club shop and to acquire some light refreshments. The enjoyment factor was clear to see and the boys made the most of a thoroughly exciting day. Thank you to Mr Bowler, Ellis and Ethan Pietkiewicz for giving up their Saturday to look after the children.
