Mr R Kingdom - Assistant Headmaster & DSL

Mr Kingdom is Assistant Headmaster, Designated Safeguarding Lead, and Head of Assessment at Lady Barn House School, where he is responsible for safeguarding, assessment and data analysis, and supporting the strategic development of the school. He is particularly passionate about ensuring that every child is safe, supported and able to thrive.

Before moving into education, Mr Kingdom worked in social services administration and technical support, and later as a computer programmer for an insurance company. His educational career has included leadership roles in both a small junior school and a large Cheshire primary school, where he served as Head of Computing.

Mr Kingdom holds a master’s degree in education management and has been recognised through a Walter Hines Page Scholarship with the English-Speaking Union, which enabled him to visit schools and technology leaders across four American cities, and a Goldsmiths Award to study the Finnish approach to mathematics education. He was also a member of the Cheshire Maths Team, a group that advised teachers across Cheshire schools on effective mathematics teaching and curriculum development.

He enjoys working alongside the school’s committed and positive children, parents and colleagues, and values the strong sense of community at Lady Barn. Outside school, Mr Kingdom is an enthusiastic traveller, particularly enjoying city breaks. Recent destinations include Milan, Budapest, Vienna and New York, where he has enjoyed exploring local history and culture.
