Mrs A Slade - Head of Upper School

Mrs Slade has been a teacher at Lady Barn House School for 19 years and is also proud to be a long-time member of the LBHS family, having attended the school as a pupil and leaving with the ‘Class of ’94’.

Over the years, she has taught in Prep 2, Prep 4, and Prep 5 and 6, gaining experience across the school and developing a deep understanding of pupils’ academic and pastoral needs.

For the past ten years, she has been Head of Upper School, leading with warmth, expertise and a strong commitment to pupil wellbeing.

Mrs Slade is passionate about supporting children and their families through the transition to Year 7. She works closely with parents to guide them through this important stage and maintains strong relationships with a wide range of local senior schools.

She has a particular interest in assessment, ensuring that each child’s individual strengths, talents and academic potential are accurately recognised and realised, both in the Upper School and in external entrance examinations. Through her experience and dedication, she helps every pupil feel confident and well prepared for the next stage of their educational journey. She finds this the most rewarding part of her role at Lady Barn!
